HAVE A GREAT AND SAFE MEMORIAL DAY

I hope all of you have an enjoyable and safe Memorial Day Weekend. Sometime over the weekend, please don’t forget to take a moment and remember all of those people that have given the ultimate sacrifice to our country. While it is much easier to remember these folks when we are standing in front a marble wall or inside 7 acres of columns in Washington DC, it is just as important on a weekend like this.

Last call for Patches (and shirts and hats)

The deadline is upon us for preordering Restricted and Trader Council Strip patches, and extra Jambo Contingent t-shirts and hats. The form will be sent with this email if you still need it.

The Good Times have just started…

Again, thanks to all for having a positive attitude and participating in all the activities at the shakedown. Just remember, you have not seen anything, yet. Here are a couple of pictures I forgot to include last time…

Changes or updates to health conditions

I know many of you got your physical many weeks ago. Please be sure and update part A online if anything has changed (medical history, medications, etc…).

You can also go in and correct or change any contact information you provided. This is spot the people at the Jamboree will go to get information about you, so you want it to be correct. You also need to make sure you have a photo uploaded of yourself. It will be on your identification badge.

New Events and Activities being added

They are still adding new events and activities to the jamboree. The Summit Seal Challenge was just announced with the Navy Seals. Keep an eye on the Summit Homepage for all the latest and greatest information.

Positions for Hometown News Correspondents are still available and are a great opportunity for aspiring journalists.

Watch the DASHBOARD

Please check in on your dashboard on a regular basis over the next few weeks. It is quite possible (and likely) that some additional information may be required from you before the Jamboree. We have been told that another consent form might be added, so keep your eyes open.

Visitor Jamboree Tickets now available for purchase

Day passes can be ordered online now for between $25 and $40 a day and less for multiday passes. Please be aware, that you scout may not be available on the day that you decide to visit. https://summit.scouting.org/en/Jamboree2013/Pages/Visitors.aspx

Clothing and Equipment Labels

Just click on the link and if you make a purchase, our troop will get a small reward for the reference. If you want, you can go direct to www.namebubbles.com as well. I use this product and it works great.

Last issue’s winner of Elvis Trivia was Mr. Bush

Mr Bush correctly answered Tupelo, MS for: “ What is the name of the town that Elvis was born in?”

Mr Bush also correctly answered the bonos as Jesse Garon Presley: Bonus Trivia: What was the name of Elvis’ twin brother that died during childbirth?

The Troop A318 Web page is up and running. It is at www.troop1525.org. Please “become a member” of the site so you will get alerted when additions or changes are made. The news page has all the newsletters, the calendar has a calendar, and we are posting pictures on the Photo Gallery.
