2013 Jamboree Troop A318

JAMBOREE GEAR HAS BEEN DELIVERED

Most of you should have your Jamboree duffle bag, backpack, patrol patches, hat, t-shirts, lodge flaps and 2 jamboree patches. Leadership patches, council strips and unit numbers will be mailed to you after June 21 (don’t panic if you don’t get them before the 26th or 27th.) If you have not picked up your stuff, look at the last newsletter and contact the leader that was delivering it to you. (Munoz in Longivew, Cook in the Far East, and Lindsey every place else-south and west.)

QR CODE ON LODGE FLAP

You will find a QR code on the back of your lodge flap. You can get a QR reader from the App store and scan it. You will then have access to a page that tells you everything you need to know about the patch. To the left you will see some of the information. The Manufacturer is also included and a picture of the patch.

IT GLOWS

If you have not checked out your jamboree contingent t-shirt, you are in for a surprise. Expose it to bright light and then take it into a dark closet. You will see that IT GLOWS. Pretty cool!!!

We do not have “veteran bars” on the sleeve, so the unit numbers go up against the council strip. On the right sleeve all we should have is the patrol patch and the flag. If you are trained you can wear the trained patch. You should have your rank on the left pocket.

LAST MINUTE ISSUES

Scoutmaster Matt Lindsey will be out of the country with a group of students from SFA visiting Germany, Switzerland and Italy from June 20th to July 7th. If you have questions please contact Mr. Munoz or Mr. Cook. If you send Mr. Lindsey an email, it might not be answered promptly.

Closing Court of Honor

Upon our return to the First United Methodist Church of Henderson on July 25th , we will have a short Court of Honor. We plan to arrive about 4, so the court of honor will be from around 4:30 to 5 and then you will be dismissed. We will have a short slide show and make some special presentations. If you are interested in helping set up or can help provide some simple refreshments, please let Mr. Lindsey know. ([email protected] )

TRIP DEPARTURE

Please make plans to meet at the First United Methodist Church of Henderson at 5:30 on July 10, 2013. The bus will depart promptly at 7 PM. If you have last minute forms to turn it, please bring them. If you want a small travel bag that will stay on the bus while we are at the JAMBO, that is OK, just don’t leave food. All your gear must fit in the Jambo Duffle and your Jambo book bag back pack. YOU NEED TO ARRIVE IN ONE OF YOUR FIELD (CLASS A) UNIFORMS.
