The big camo plane is the F105 ThunderChief. Lakes' great grandfather on his mothers side designed and engineered this plane. The Thunderchief was the largest single-seat, single-engine combat aircraft in history. The last 143 versions of this plane were a two seat trainer variant. We have a photograph of Warner Rankin sitting in the back seat of a two seat trainer.
